The Haunting Continued
Investigator Coggins

If you have read my story named Beyond the Door then you can understand in this story why I have listed it as The Haunting Continued. My sister was in need of a place to stay. She had two sons ages 5 and 6 at the time. I had plenty of room in that big old house so that was not a problem. I allowed her to use the upstairs bedroom across from mine to be used as the boy's room. She on the other hand used the bedroom downstairs. It was kind of nice having my sister there since I felt uneasy in that place after my first experience. I was still pregnant but so close to my due date.

After a week of being there the boys began to complain of not wanting to be in their bedroom at night. They said they were afraid. We asked them why and they told us they keep seeing these little balls of light float through the room and they could hear someone whispering. Well of course that caused major concern to me since I knew that place was haunted but my sister told them not to worry nothing was in their room and nothing was going to happen to them. We grew up with strong Baptist faith so we just encouraged them to say their prayers at night and everything would be ok.

Well everything seemed ok until one night my sister put the boys to bed, it must have been around 9:00 pm. I was watching TV in my room but I could hear my sister in the bathroom, it was right next to my bedroom upstairs. She was running her bath water so she could relax a bit after dealing with the boys all day. About 30 minuets passed and I could hear my sister come out of the bathroom. I could hear her talking to the boys downstairs. I thought to myself well those little boogers; they got up and slipped downstairs without me knowing it.

I got up and went downstairs to find out what all the ruckus was about and my sister told me that they was hiding in a little cubby area downstairs because they told her they were scared of their bedroom again. She felt sorry for them because you could tell they really were afraid. So she walked them into her room and told them they could sleep with her.

I was still downstairs when it all began. There was a loud pounding noise coming from upstairs in the boy's bedroom area. It sounded like someone was stomping their feet continuously. My sister and I joined each other in the downstairs' hallway listening with non belief. Then there were sounds as if there were furniture being moved and turned upside down. The boys began to cry from fear. I quickly called the police not really knowing what to say at that point but they agreed to come right away.

It couldn't have been 5 mins till they got there; the police station was only mins away from the house so that was a relief. When they arrived they could see the fear on our faces, they could hear what was going on upstairs and quickly escorted my sister and the little ones out to the police car. As much as I was afraid and in disbelief as to what was going on I refused to go sit in the police car. The police officers, made their way upstairs, there were two of them. I followed behind.

When they got to the top of the stairs the noise continued. One of the officers yelled out, (This is the police!!) The noise stopped, just like that! And the officer reached over turning the door knob and pushed it open again saying this is the police. I was still standing at the top of the stairs when the officer went into the room. The other officer followed.

I heard the first officer make a statement (what the hell happened in here!!) I looked around the corner and into the bedroom and I was shocked to see what had happened. The kid's bed was turned upside down; the wallpaper had been shred from the left side of the room to the right side of the room. I window blinds had been shredded all the way up to the top roller.

The police officer looked at me and said (ma m I have no explanations for what happened tonight but I suggest you leave if you have somewhere else to stay) They began searching the upstairs trying to find an entrance that maybe someone was able to get in without me knowing it. The attic windows were barred shut and I was home most of the time so I would have known if anything unusual happened. If you could have seen the look on the officer's faces and their confusion as to how to write out that report…looking back that part was a bit funny but needless to say after I had to leave my home that night I began my search to find somewhere to move.

Luckily we were able to move a few weeks after my daughter was born, I wasn't about to have her in that house no longer than I had to. I was relieved to finally be able to get out of that house. As I stated in my last story I have no idea as to why or what was haunting that home all I can do now is speculate. I have my own theory but one will never know now right?
